Virtual Balloon Race is free and open source (GPL). Download the latest version from GitHub: open the release and pick virtual-balloon-race-<version>.zip under Assets.
Install
- Download the zip from the latest release (don’t unzip it).
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin, choose the zip, then Install Now and Activate.
- Make sure WooCommerce is active, so entries can be sold.
- Follow Getting started to set up your first race, or try Balloon Race → Settings → Demo race first.
Updates
From version 1.11.0, new releases show up as normal WordPress plugin updates. Turn on Enable auto-updates for the plugin on the Plugins screen and they install themselves. Each release’s notes are on GitHub.

- WordPress 6.0 or newer
- PHP 7.4 or newer
- WooCommerce, to sell entries
